For existing two-door hatchers, Jamesway offers a plastic hatcher basket/tray conversion.
Jamesway's plastic baskets/trays are manufactured from polyethylene for improved rigidity, lighter weight and improved stackability. As a construction material, plastic is much more forgiving during egg transfer, resulting in fewer damaged eggs.
The plastic used is made with ultra-violet stabilizers for protection against sunlight. It will not corrode, and the lighter color makes for a quick visual inspection of proper cleaning. The plastic baskets/trays are also designed with more open area on the sides and bottom for better ventilation. The baskets/trays have 250 square inches (1,613 cm2) of open area along the sides and ends compared to 112 square inches (722.58 cm2) in our metal baskets/trays.
Jamesway's plastic tray conversion kit consists of six single column dollies or two single column and two double column dollies with 90 plastic baskets/trays, six perforated tops, and a centralized air intake duct. This conversion does not include any dolly locators because of the placement of the individual dollies: one is located behind the center post, and one is located partially behind the corner post.
A threshold conversion, which includes the vinyl bulb gasket material, can be ordered separately.
If the hatcher is not already set up for Super J operation, two Super J fan blades and one double blower conversion must be added. Please contact your Jamesway representative to determine your exact requirements.
