Guardian HVAC Controls - Improving Hatch Rates

The Guardian HVAC Controls system has been designed by our ventilation engineers at Jamesway with the modern poultry hatchery in mind. This system allows the hatchery manager complete control of his environmental control system throughout the hatchery.

The system is comprised of a computer which runs the software, a sensor "pack" to provide any combination of temperature, humidity and/or pressure, a controller which is the hardware that reads sensors and drives outputs, and a secondary display panel.

Programming is "non-volatile"; it resides in the controller and operates independently of the computer. (If the controller is turned "off", the process continues to run using the last set points entered.)  Programming can be edited and configured on-line with no interruption of the process.

Expandable to sense and control any number of inputs/outputs.

Allows operator to observe measurements and change set points at the computer or at the remote display.

Both computer software interface and remote screen display are password protected.

There are unlimited numbers of operator password accounts, with 10-tier level of security for viewing and /or changing values.

Data logging of all inputs and outputs is possible. Other features are:

Records time/date/operator to event log.

Can graph any input or output value. Scroll in real-time to any time/date in the graph's history, with no interruption to current graph.

Print any screen or graph.

Prioritized (10-tier) alarming of any event or combination of events, however complex.

Multifunction annunciation; can call an alpha-numeric pager and display ANY event or alarm condition giving full details.

Can be operated or monitored remotely from another computer; dial-in to check events/alarms or to change set points, via modem or internet.

This system uses the latest in software and hardware for control applications such as hatchery ventilation.

Count On Us Before They Hatch!
All The Components You Need From A Single Source
At Jamesway, we not only design your ventilation system, we also provide all the components necessary to put it in place. We work directly with some of the most recognized suppliers of heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment, control systems, energy management systems and more. And we deal with a variety of suppliers, so we can provide the best possible solution for your hatchery. Yet, you get all the advantages of working with only one supplier - Jamesway.

A Ventilation System That's No Sweat
Hatchery ventilation is one of the key factors in producing a successful hatch and good quality day-old birds. Yet it is often one of the most misunderstood and poorly managed aspects of a hatchery.

We recognize the intricacies of the ventilation system design. And we're aware that, what may seem like minor variables - such as building orientation or construction, the type of machines you're using, the degree of automation and your hatchery's interior load - can have serious implications for hatchery ventilation.

A well-designed ventilation system can reduce energy costs, boost incubator and hatcher operation, improve hatchery sanitation and, most important of all, provide the proper environment for embryo development and for hatched day-old birds.

At Jamesway, we understand that each room in your hatchery has its own specific ventilation requirements, which demand different temperature, humidity and air flow patterns. And maintaining these environmental levels can be enough to make even the most experienced hatchery manager sweat.

That's why we study embryo development in depth to help you achieve the maximum level of success with your ventilation system. And we take into account the location of your hatchery, to compensate for the local climate, including temperature, humidity, altitude and other factors. Then, with the help of state-of-the-art computer-aided design capabilities, we design a system that keeps the environment inside your hatchery constant, no matter what the weather outside. We can even design systems to operate on alternative fuels, to make the best use of locally available sources.

Guardian Computerized Ventilation Software
The software interface for a PC is a very useful tool to log and graph data. The software operates in any "Microsoft Windows" environment (95, 98, NT, 2000, XP). The computer terminal displays Jamesway custom graphics, and is dynamic; all screens are intuitive and user-friendly, depicting objects that change as values change.

The system also has these functions:

Can share data to/from any "Windows" application; can update or be updated from, say, "Excel" spreadsheets. This includes graph and charting functions.

Can "multi task"; can be installed on any computer in customer's network.
Print any screen or graph.

Offers redundancy; another computer on the network can be configured to take over if the primary computer is turned off (this ensures uninterrupted trending/graphing).

How To Get A Hatchery Ventilation System That'll Make You All Comfortable
Create A Healthy Environment For Business
These days, there's no easy formula for running a successful hatchery. Margins are tight. You face a multitude of operational variables. And the poultry industry changes on a daily basis.

With so much stacked against you, it just makes sense to look for a strong partner to help you create a healthy environment for your hatchery business. A partner with all the capabilities to help you plan a new facility or remodel an existing one, no matter whose hatchery equipment you're using. A partner with proven abilities and experience. A partner like Jamesway.

At Jamesway, we understand that no two hatcheries are exactly alike. That every hatchery has its own unique ventilation and equipment needs. And that ventilation, one of the most critical aspects of hatchery management, is often the trickiest to deal with. That's why we have a team of professionals who do nothing but specialize in hatchery ventilation.

This knowledgeable, experienced team goes right into your hatchery design, whether it's new construction or retrofitting, to tailor it to your specific goals and preferences. You work with people who understand the hatchery business, from the farm to grow-out. So you get a total system plan - one that helps your hatchery operate at maximum capacity and quality levels --with the know-how to follow through and put your plan in place. Or, if you only need help designing your hatchery, without the implementation, we offer that, too, through our consultation services.
